The Avoca Football Netball Club congratulates Garry McKenzie for his 500th game as an umpire that he officiated in on the weekend.
Garry is an Avoca local boy, and his first involvement with the Avoca Football Netball Club was as the mascot in our 1953 premiership team.
Macka played in our junior grades in the 60s and then played in our 1971 Senior Grade Runner team.
He and his wife Kath, who is a local girl and also a netball premiership player for Avoca returned for our netball premiership reunion in 2018, and Macka umpired our reserves game on the day of the Reunion.
